FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!

Ha, you thought this was about politics.

Yesterday was the first day of my next four years. It was the four-year anniversary of my very first blog post. 573 posts later... oh. Writer's block. I know, I'll do the round-up of recent search strings!

  • The number one search string recently is... Hayden Christensen! Thanks, Blogless Troll, for the hint. In fact, among my top ten recent search strings are
    #1: hayden christensen porn
    #3: hayden christensen
    #6: hayden christensen hair
    #40: hayden christensen beard
    #41: hayden christensen's hair
    #42: hayden christenson
    #43: hayden christiansen porn
    #44: haydyn christenson
    #70: porn christenson
  • A few search strings have the distinction of bringing visitors that stick around to view other pages. The searches with the highest page views per visit (three!) are
    "picking cherries" blog
    hayden christensen beard
oregon camp meery weather boy scout camp
    writers conference linda lee
  • Slightly behind the 3 pages per visit with 2 pages per visit were these searches:
    inquisited dave the game
    sanjaya
    shme dave
    tiffany roberts fan club
And finally, the ones that I just enjoy that brought someone (I wonder who) to this blog:
  • "wait 30 minutes" + "bathroom line"
  • aging sucks
  • belly button stabbing
  • chisenbop commercial
  • how to offend a corner kick
  • i have been forwarded
  • medieval porn cleavage
  • q38 space modulator
  • order ice cream to your door dudley
  • verizon pay as you sucks
And now to return some of the recent love sent my way... the top referring sites in recent days:
I've been remiss in visiting my friends on line recently. Life gets in the way. Even worse, I've not revised a word of my WIP in nearly a month. Work is that busy. In a good way, though. It's hard to complain when you love your job and the net result is going to be tens of millions of dollars flowing into nonprofit organizations all over the world.

And last, but certainly not least especially for all of you who made it this far:
Thank you for your support!

I can't believe I fell off the list.

Here's another great tip: all the pics you post on your blog, name them "haydenchristensen.jpg", "haydenchristensen1.jpg", etc. That way, even if you can't figure out a way to work him into the post itself, people searching for images of him-

ahh, crap. I just realized they'll be looking at the thumbnails before they click through to your blog. Won't work. Never mind.

Congrats on four years!

Still can't believe I fell off the list.

Hey, Pete! Congrats on four years!

I didn't even find out what a blog was until the very late fall of 2006.

Now that I actually write that, it's weird to think about.

Man, I woulda really missed out not meeting you and the others.

So, here's to four more years. At least!

paisley: I had the same reaction when I first read Blogless Troll's mention of Christensen. And I have two little boys who've watched Star Wars III seventeen million times.

BT: It's a "what have you done for me lately" world out there. If you don't show up in the feed reader, you get put in the back in the discount rack like another can of beans.

robin: you're a true sweetheart and always have kind words for (almost) everyone. There was that one guy, and you ripped him good, and well deserved it was. I am lucky to have met you. And I love small-world coincidences, too.

paca: Thanks of the yay! I bet your astonished I haven't been voted off the island yet. I know I am.

WW, congrats on three years. I think you've posted far more than I, though. A few months back I did my "500 posts" post, and if I recall you were already well ahead of me. Yours was one of the first personal blogs I started following off EE's site, I think.

Sarah--Ha ha! Thanks! That is a title I hope never to relinquish. It's so much better than the other title that joker Kay Ryan has. I mean, really. UCLA?

And I can pretty much guarantee that "kay ryan porn" will not be outstripping "hayden christensen porn" in my search hit count any time soon.

congratulations on longevity. And for being able to draw in fans of Hayden Christensen (shudder). Me? I probably would have made my way here seeking medieval cleavage. Not sure what that is, but it probably beats primeval cleavage. Peace

Hey, sweetie- just popping on to say- i'll be sending you my writing piece this afternoon.

Sorry to take so long to send- my daughter flew in last night from overseas - and it's been crazy hectic around here!

Hope you and yours are doing fine.

Yay, Pete!

For a while, the number one search that brought people to my blog was "Dance, Baby, Dance." Goodness knows what they were looking for.

Many more years of blogging to you!

Congrats on four years Peter!

Another subversive way to get people to your blog is to type popular search strings, i.e. Paris Hilton, Hayden, etc . . . in the same color as the blog page.

For example, if your page is white, change the font of the search string text to white. Just throw it anywhere on the page. People will be brought to your blog and not know why. (Full disclosure: I've never done this - if you try it, let us know how it works!)

Love the idea of naming your pictures with search string words!

And what's up with Hayden Christiansen? Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks he is NOT hot (and that rat-tail thing he wore in Star Wars? ewwwww). Ewan McGregor any day.

Wow! four years ago I barely knew what a blog was! Well done. I've been a bit of a hermit myself recently. I'm going to try catch up on all I've missed this month.

Congrats on your blogiversary Pete!

Congratulations on 4 years! Woo hoo!!!!!!!
And you still have cool stuff to post about? you brilliant man you!

And can't blame you for life intervening. I started querying right as school is starting. Not the best time to add more to my plate and now I am stressed!

I'm jealous of your job you know!

Not me? Bah. Looks like I've been neglecting my blogging too. Same reason as you. But had to say congrats to my Top Of the List Blogger (apart from the fact that the list disappeared a few weeks ago!).

good work, pj. I'm impressed by your prolific persistence (and all the cool gadgets on your blog). I will have been posting for 4 years in November, but only 134 posts to date. I write and post because I can, and because it's there - and I have fun with it. I truly enjoy your writing, so here's to four more years.
