workers below, and the rails are h-o-t HOT.

Yet More Rules Of The Blog

We just spent four days in the desert.  Las Vegas and environs, in particular.  In my life I've spent many days in Las Vegas.  I've seen four days in a row where the temperature was 115 degrees or more.  But I've never seen four days in a row of heavy rains.  Before this trip, that is.

With that in mind, watch your hands and please be aware of the workers.

That is all.

PS:  Prize to the first person to identify the location of this particular sign.  Must be present to win.  Must be at least 18 years of age and legally able to cross state lines to collect prize.

The sign is on the wall. Honestly, Pete, if you wanted to make things challenging you should have cropped the photo down to just the sign.

I love a frog-choker in the desert. The only time I ever got to see it was in Argentina. The annual rainfall in Mendoza is something crazy, like < 10 inches a year, and damn if it doesn't happen all in one day. In January, the height of their summer.

A few fat drops of rain hit the pavement and everything starts to smell like a wet chalkboard. Then the bottom drops out and the rain roars out of the sky. Then comes hail, mighty fists of it, so loud that you can barely hear the thunder. After an hour or so, it wears itself out and it's another year before the skies throw their annual temper tantrum.

Laurel, lovely description of the rain on the plain. But unfortunately, you are wrong about the location of the sign. It actually is not on a wall.

Excuse me for saying so but a man could issue the same warning about his penis.

Good guess, Travis, but alas that's not where the sign was either.

Robin, Merry Christmas to you too!

Jane, you put Facebook and Blog together, didn't you? You win the prize. Let me know when you'll be in San Francisco to collect it. But I would expect the Hooverin' Dame to come up with this answer.

Actually, I turned to google for my answer...Then I had a "duh moment" when I realized that you had just been to the HD. :) I expect to be in your neck of the woods near the end of March to collect hugs and my prize. :)

Srsly? You'll be here? For reals? We don't have a Giraffe here, but we do have plenty of good cafes and pubs.

Aw, shoot. Now I'll have to think up an actual prize.

Cousin Julie is getting married on the 26th of March. :) So the plan is to come down.
