The Vermont Farm

Here's the view from the road past my parents' house in Vermont (the house is just out of frame to the right). What you can't see is just up to the left there's a nice sledding hill and a pond (frozen over right now). We got a few inches of fresh snow and a lot of wind last night, so all our bootprints have been wiped away. It really is beautiful here.

Ooh. Snow! Um. Cold! But pretty snow and the possibilites for a snowman... *sigh* Miss building snowmen. Don't miss shoveling snow.

Wow - a veritable winter wonderland. Now tall me about the open log fire and you're talking about my dream home.

you know I meant "tell" not "tall" right?

I used to live in Vermont about 20 years ago, up in the Northeast Kingdom. While I like Maine, I still think the granite-filled landscapes of Vermont are far lovelier. Hope you have a great visit.

I left my camera cables in Connecticut, or I'd post a few more photos. It really was spectacular. Last night we drove from Stowe, VT to my sister's outside Boston, MA. Not much snow around here... until we woke up this morning. Forecast for today (Dec 31) was 4 to 6 inches. That has been revised upwards to 8-10 inches.

So we're generally staying indoors, letting the boys play Wii, looking out at the gorgeous stream running through the woods, and wondering if we'll be snowed in on the 2nd when it's time to fly home.

And I am wondering whether my employer would allow me to move here. Though they have somewhat less say in that than my wife does, and she's a California girl through and through. So it's unlikely.

Oh my, it looks beautiful.

You know, I've never been to Vermont, or Boston for that matter... they're at the top of my list when I do get time and money for a bit of traveling... though I'm thinking fall might be a great time to see them.

I hope you and yours are having a wonderful time - Happy New Year!!!
