haiku wednesday - January 23, 2008

This week's words are
breath
scattered
tomorrow

red roses hurled, crushed
baby's breath scattered like rice
tomorrow he'll pay

final breath sears lungs
people scattered like dead twigs
no more tomorrow

kids scattered, breath held
won't find me til tomorrow
hide and seek savant

Oh the first one made me so sad. Not sure why, but I couldn't help but wonder if he really deserved to pay?

I like the way the three words made a connection between the three haiku. Powerful stuff.

red roses hurled - I like the image of the gentle being flung. breath scattered like rice - very visual. scattered like dead twigs - ouch, this one reminds me of 9/11. hide and seek savant - oh wise one! Really like these.
