This week's words are
caress
jagged
ruthless
Three words that create a satisfyingly twisted dissonance. This one's going to be tricky. Hmm.
caress my ego
your ruthless love and kindness
sooth my jagged heart
ouch! your jagged nails
turn caress into cat scratch
stop, you ruthless fiend
love's jagged fringe lures
role-play ruthless drill sergeant
caress my rifle

i like the first one best. interesting use of ruthless against love and kindness!
i've missed reading your haikus!
fun!
Nice haiku - I find the last one to be absolutely filled with imagery...and thought processing.
Three more winners. I think I'll vote the first as my favorite, but they are all very well done - with three words that were tough, I have to admit. The words kind of pick me, more than I pick them.
The first was my favourite but you used the three words in all three poems so well...filled with imagery and a ruthless love of people!
the first one's the best, guess I like the opposite - ruthless love - I read it as tough love, someone who's willing to give you their honesty even when their ways and words are hurtful, am I reading too much into these haikus?
Oooooh. Go #1!
Thanks, everyone. Although I love both my children equally, I'm free to love or hate my writing in any way I see fit. I do like the first but never really warmed up to the second or third as much. Seems to be the general consensus.
The first one packed a powerful punch...all three were excellent!
#3 cracked me up.
The second one really resonated with me! Every time my husband asks me to scratch his back, I do it too roughly and he screams. There is a method to my madness!
The others are excellent, though, too! Actually, they are deeper. Very creative!
And thanks for your kind words about my poem!
sweet, salty, and bitter...
tasty haikus!
First one. Winner it is
first n last !! loved both :)
"caress my rifle"
Okay, downright kinky. lol Thanks for coming by. Enjoyed the read.
PJD, after all your comments on OxyJen's blog I assumed that (a) you were in charge of 3WW and (b) 3WW was a haiku ring.
What a goof am I, but this is still a fun game to play.
I wrote a post on haiku, with my submission at the end, thinking everyone on 3WW was a haiku person. Egads, how wrong could I be, now that I have started visiting 3WW members and reading the diversity.
I think I liked your first haiku best, but I have to think about it. The third one draws me, but it also jars my sense of word aesthetics. I have to continue thinking about it.
Tschüss,
Chris
I like!
They're all good!
I liked the first one also, although all of them are really good!
