haiku wednesday - September 2, 2009

This week's words are
glare
luster
threat

All that work this summer has begun to pay off. We reached $5.28 million in donations by the end of the first day of our campaign, and we're over $6 million as of right now. Here's hoping the next 28 and a half days bring us to another amazing total. I am so thankful to work for a company that has such remarkably generous employees.

glare and empty threat
luster of child's broad grin
ice melts on vase shards

gold's glare blinds the king
wish granted hides deadly threat
wealth's luster now dulled

glare of the luster
who covets his neighbor's wife
threat to both their souls

Well, you've done it again, with some fairly tough words to weave into a haiku. And congrats on the fund raising. That's amazing in this economic climate.

All are so good that it isn't easy to pick a favourite!

it was not a dream, certainly not a memory

Good ones- can't pick because I have a headache and thinking too hard hurts, but I think it may be #2.

Totally love 'em all. Loved the mischeif in #1 and the tease in #2 :D

Yeah, cool! I like the way you changed the use of the word luster in the end one!

Nice haiku! One of the best forms of poetry for reading out loud, methinks.

I really liked the last haiku, because it reminded me of a story I had to read as a child. Well done!
