This week's words are
cryptic
flash
malign
Harsh, combative words this week. How invigorating! But they are slightly difficult words, I find. Easy to weave together, but difficult to structure in so small a space. (Mostly because I choose to use the words as presented and not use permutations such as maligned for malign, or flashing for flash.)
they malign my name
candid flash, cryptic headline
to build their own fame
malign the research
cryptic signs, flash of insight
now you understand
flash your cryptic smile
do you malign or praise me?
your words mean two things

Harsh? Wow. You know the three just speak to me? But you've done a great job with all three. The last being my favorite.
"harsh" as in harsh-sounding, with hard edges and pointy bits. With an aggression to them of a sort, when put together.
No reflection on you personally, Thom! I actually think these are terrific prompt words.
Ooh I'm really getting into these now. They were all bloody good. I can't do a Robin - i.e. pick a favourite - OK I can! The middle one by a gnat's whisker!
Great ones!!!
And you know why I would love the first one the most. :D
i try to keep the roots, but......
Good three!
Very well done!!!
You are so darn clever! I had a hard time coming up with one!
Wow - I find these SOSOSO difficult to write and these are SO damned good!! This shows some serious TALENT and savvy!
I love coming to see what you've created on/for "haiku Wednesday"!
And this is a first- I can't pick a favorite this week. All three knocked me out equally.
The last one is definitely my favourite. Reminds me of my piece for this week. Of course, I went about it in my usual verbose manner (or rather, I tried not to be verbose and therefore made a "poem", LoL!)
Cool! I understand what you mean about the grittiness of the words - they are difficult to smooth in nano bits. Nice work. I enjoyed the read!
At first, it was to be his own bottle, hence the reason for the anger. But as I wrote it, it decided to take a different path. Tried to keep the anger, but it was misplaced. Mischief replaced that.
I had to change the number of digits, too. Jeez. What a train wreck. It takes 15 numbers to dial outside the U.S.
I liked the last one a lot. People's tendency to say one thing and mean another is one of my bugbears.
I like the first one best this time!
I love all three of these, and oddly enough they would all be appropriate accompaniments to events going on at my workplace this week.
Art imitates life in this case.
i thought you did well especially so appreciated yr comments... i thought the same thing too... well, sorta, but you sed it so eloquently.... as always yr kuz splash with subtle wisdom and light... we can all euuuu and ahhh over...
The last one is definitely my favorite, but they are all great. They are like a challenge to author writers.
